First Night Winchester

December 31st @ 9pm to 12am

First Night Winchester 2013First Night Winchester is the largest, safest, family-friendly, non-alcoholic, budget-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration in the Shenandoah Valley. One price gets you a button that allows you into all our First Night events for the entire evening. First Night helps to bring family and friends together to make hands clap, feet stomp, bodies dance, faces smile, children (and adults) laugh, and spirits soar.

On December 31 this community event brings the night to life as businesses, churches, and other venues open their doors to multiple stages featuring performances throughout the evening. Entertainment includes, but is not limited to, folk, jazz, bluegrass, oldies, Swing Bands, acoustical guitar, puppet shows, kids events and all kinds of entertainment up and down the Old Town Mall area.

And then, just before the year ends, the entire community comes together at the intersection of Cameron and Boscawen Streets to sing, share memories and welcome in the New Year with our own Barry Lee (courtesy of WINC) as we count down time with our official “Apple Drop” and midnight fireworks display. The majority of our events take place in Old Town Winchester within easy walking distance to all venues. Old Town Winchester provides us with an ideal setting with its historic charm, convenient parking and many venues and businesses.

Buttons for the event cost $10, with discounts for group purchases.  For a full list of events and where to purchase buttons, visit the First Night Winchester website.
