Come and celebrate the last Friday Night LIVE of the summer on August 9th to experience a whole new vibe in Downtown Winchester. On the newly renovated Old Town Winchester Walking Mall there will be an exciting event with country and rock live entertainment in a dynamic atmosphere with people from all over the region for everyone to enjoy.
Friday Night LIVE will feature two different music venues, one located in the Habel parking lot and the other at the Cork Street parking lot. Each of these venues will showcase different styles of music and feature some of the area’s top musical talent. Within the music venues food and drink vendors will be on hand selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The venues will also feature other entertainment such as cornhole, pong and other entertainers. The Walking Mall will be filled with acoustical performances and street performers creating entertainment up and down the strip. These venues will open at 5:30 pm and the bands will play from 6:30 pm until 11:00 pm. August 9th Bands:
Creigh Riepe – from Nashville, Tn. is headlining the Cork Street stage sponsored by Q102. Riepe competed in the CMA Music Festival’s Rising Star Contest, and won first place for Best Original Selection with his self-written tune, “We Can’t Love.” He took home the grand prize in the 2009 Dierks Bentley MySpace vocal competition. Creigh also competed on ABC’s USA Karaoke Champion making it all the way to the semi-finals.
Britani Myers – a Winchester native, will be preceding Riepe. Myers opened up for Leann Rimes at the 4th Annual Patsy Cline Classic at the Patsy Cline Theatre in Winchester, VA.
Dangerous Mood – A Country /folk/bluegrass duo from Winchester,VA.
The Last Year – a modern rock band based in Baltimore, Md. will be headlining the Hable stage sponsored by 105.5 The Bone. The Last Year combines a varied mix of alternative rock and new wave music to create an unforgettable sound.
Father’s Honor – Father’s Honor fuses various styles and elements of country, rock and roll, punk, indie and alternative to create a truly unique sound
Red Sammy – Americana rock band from Baltimore, Md.
In addition to the two music venues the whole walking mall will be alive with street performers, acoustical performers, and more!
Old Town Winchester merchants will also be open to feature their products and services. Over 80 unique businesses ranging from art galleries, boutiques, specialty shops, eateries and museums will be joining up with Friday Night Live and be open to the public throughout these evenings.
